Meghan and Ethan's wedding was one of our first and one of our sweetest to date. They got married at The Fox at the Mill, which sadly is no longer a functioning venue. It was located in an historic grist mill in Bethlehem, PA. This place was adorable:exposed beams, stone, and hardwood floors, not to mention beautiful natural light, nestled amongst trees and Monococy Creek. Wah!!! It's too sad.
Meghan had faith in us before anyone else. She had a truly lovely vision for her wedding. She wanted something rustic, simple and elegant. We assisted her with styling, but really we just helped make her vision come to life. It was an honor to help her sort through various ideas and special touches.
Meghan asked us to create a sign asking her guests not to take photos during their wedding. You may have seen the blog about unplugged weddings and it makes a great point. I love me some wedding hashtags, but overzealous guests with iphones can block the view of other guests and even the photographer in an affort to get a great shot. Best to leave the photography to the experts and let them capture all those once in a lifetime moments. Meghan and Ethan hired one of our favorite local wedding photography teams, Birds of A Feather.
When I said "sweet" wedding, I wasn't kidding. Meghan sourced some local treats for her guests. She provided little boxes of chocolates from Chocolate Lab of Bethlehem as favors, and Yum Yum Donuts from Quakertown, PA for dessert. Her wedding cake was created by another favorite, Bethlehem confectioner, Sugar Babe Cupcakes.
Their wedding was so early in our game, we didn't have our fleet of farmhouse tables yet. So we reached out to Forget-Me-Not-Vintage Rentals in Berwick, PA. They provided the tables and we provided the mismatched chairs. We love all our "friendors" and are so thankful there are other people like us that have a deep and abiding love for vintage rentals.
Meghan's beautiful bouquet was crafted by Allium Design. Her pretty pale-pink gown is from BHLDN. Loving the touch of color it adds!
Congratulations Meghan and Ethan! May you have many happily-ever-after-years ahead of you!
XOXOXO Meg and Abby
